Most women do find pregnancy test at home convenient than going to the medical doctors that is why I have decided to write this article showing you how you can do your pregnancy test within the comfort of your home using toothpaste, salt and sugar and so on. Most of these items are affordable and they are within reach as well making pregnancy test at home safe and quick.

1. Pregnancy Test At Home With Sugar 

This item is easily available in every kitchen cabinets and to carry out a pregnancy test with it is quite simple and easy.

Procedure:

  • Get your early morning urine in a container or bottle
  • Place a small quantity of fine sugar in a plastic container
  • Add the morning urine sample to the container and observe it for any reaction or changes.

Result:

To know if you are pregnant or not, check if the substance forms a sugar clumps indicating a positive result of your pregnancy test and if the sugar dissolves instead of forming sugar clumps then, it is a negative result showing no pregnancy.

However, it must be noted that this method may not show a positive result at the very early stage of pregnancy. Meaning that this method may not work for a very young pregnancy say 2-4weeks.

2. Shampoo Pregnancy Test At Home

This method of conducting a pregnancy test at home is actually simple and easy. The process involved in using shampoo for conducting a pregnancy test at home is as follow;

  • For this test to be carried out, you will need an early morning urine collected in a clean bottle or bowl.
  • Fill another bowl with clean water halfway
  • Add a few drops of shampoo in the bowl of water but make sure it doesn’t froth
  • Next, add your urine sample in the bowl to observe the changes.

Result:

To detect if you are pregnant or not, check if there is any froth formation in the solution of shampoo after adding the urine sample, if that happens, then it means the result is positive and if otherwise, it is regarded as being negative

3. Pregnancy Test With Salt

This pregnancy test method is considered one of the most reliable pregnancy tests. It is very simple/easy to carry out and the result is certain if positive or negative

Procedure:

Use a glass or transparent container to take a fresh sample of your urine from the first exertion of the morning.

  • Add a small quantity of salt to the sample
  • Observe the changes in the solution.

Result :

To detect if the result of your pregnancy test is positive, the urine sample starts turning into a milky and cheesy solution and if there is no changes then it means the result is negative.

4. Pregnancy Test with Baking Soda

Baking soda can help you clear any doubts regarding pregnancy. The steps involved in conducting a pregnancy test using baking soda at home is very simple.

 

Procedure:

Take two tablespoons of baking soda in a plastic cup and add the morning urine sample to the cup. Observe the mixture for results.

Result

If the mixture fizzes up then it is a positive indicator of your pregnancy. If the baking soda settles down and doesn’t react with the urine then you are not pregnant.

5. Pregnancy Test with Toothpaste

Some will be surprised of how possible is it to conduct a pregnancy test with toothpaste. Well, it is possible to conduct a pregnancy test at home with toothpaste. This method of pregnancy test is also an effective and reliable method.

 

Procedure: 

  • Get a blob of toothpaste in a clean bowl or container
  • Collect a sample of urine from the first exertion of the day and mix it with the toothpaste using a spatula
  • Mix the urine sample with the toothpaste thoroughly.

Result:

If the mixture starts turning blue, then it is a positive indicator of pregnancy. Although, the mixture may also form some bubbles due to chemical reactions but this doesn’t suggest any sign of pregnancy.

6 Pregnancy Test At Home Using Bleach

Bleach is a strong oxidizing agent that is actually used for washing clothes and removing tough stains. But I tell you that bleach can also be used to conduct pregnancy test at home.

Procedure:

  • Put a small quantity of bleach powder in a clean container
  • Add the early morning urine sample into the container containing the bleach
  • Observe the solution for chemical reactions.

Result:

To know if the result is positive, check If the mixture exerts gas, fumes or bubbles, if yes, then it means you are pregnant and if none of these happen then it show you are not pregnant. That is a negative result.

7. Vinegar and Tuner Juice Pregnancy Test

Using vinegar and tuner juice to conduct a pregnancy test is perhaps one of the easiest ways to detect your pregnancy status.

Procedure:

  • Get ¼ cup of vinegar, ¼ cup of tuna juice and ½ cup of early morning urine sample
  • Mix the samples together in a plastic container
  • Wait for some time to see the results.

Results:

Possibility of  pregnancy would only occur if the solution turned green showing a positive result but if its turns orange or something close to yellow color, then the result is negative meaning no pregnancy.

8. Pregnancy Test Using Pine-Sol

Pine-Sol is just like bleach used for household cleaning. It can also be used in carrying out pregnancy test at home Just like bleach.

Procedure:

  • Collect the early morning urine in a container
  • Add the early morning urine sample to ½ cup of pine sol solution
  • Leave the solution for a while to observe the changes.

Result:

The color of this solution will definitely  change from the initial color of the pine-sol before the urine was added indicating a positive result of pregnancy and if the color of the pine-sol is the same, it means the result is negative

9. Pregnancy Test Using Soap

Don’t be surprised that the bathing soap you use on a daily basis can easily be used to check pregnancy at home.

 

Procedure:

  • Collect your early morning urine in a container
  • Place a small piece of soap in a clean container.
  • Add the urine to the container containing the soap
  • Observe the mixture for possible reactions between the soap and the urine sample.

Result:

The formation of froth or foam after leaving the mixture for like 5-6 minutes shows sign of pregnancy and if mixture remain the same without showing any form of froth or foams then the result is negative showing no sign of pregnancy.

It must be noted that these forms of pregnancy test shouldn’t be replaced with the used of test strip because it is the most reliable form of pregnancy test before a visit to your doctor.
