  1. Please introduce yourself and your business.

My name is Hadiza Hassan Magaji Kaku.I am a mother of six and the creative director of khadi kaku fashion house, a clothing brand dedicated to making children’s clothing for babies, toddlers and young adults.

  1. What inspired you to start working from home/Office? Did anyone in particular inspire you?

My inspiration come from my kids. I am a fashion lover and love dressing my children in unique designs which led me to start experimenting on dynamic designs, hence the birth of Khadi Kaku Fashion House.

  1. Is your family supportive of you being a working mother or a mompreneur?

My family is the steel behind my never ending support. Everyone contributes to make KKFH the brand it is today.

  1. What are the main challenges you face as an Entrepreneur/Mompreneur?

As a working mother, the main challenge I faced while growing my brand is the balance between work and taking care of my kids. Being a mother is a full time job on its own and always comes first. The business trails after motherhood and moved at a slower pace than preferred.

  1. Describe a typical working day. Are there specific times in the day that you work on your business?

My day starts at 5:00am with my morning prayers (fajr). I get the children ready for school and drop them off. I get to work on my business in between house chores and meal preparations. I experiment with fabrics and designs mostly at night when everyone has gone to bed.

  1. What makes Your Business different from your competitors?

Khadi Kaku Fashion House aims at comfort and practicality with every child’s best interest at heart. Our designs brings out the true happiness of a child with considerations to affordability and durability.

  1. What helps keep you motivated?

Frankly I find motivation around the need to help as much people as I can. I set small targets with goals and strive hard to achieve them.

  1. Where would you like to see your business in the future?

My dream in the near future is to make KKFH a household brand both locally and internationally. I would like to clothe as many children as possible!

  1. What advice would you give to mums considering taking the step of being a working mum?

Entrepreneurship is not as rosy as the social Media portrays it to be and everyone moves at their own time. As a startup, do not compare your today with someone else’s yesterday. Stay focused and consistent, it pays off eventually.

Waoooow, how do you see the interview session with the C.E.O of KKFH?
