Today, permit me to crush on this beautiful, elegant and powerful woman of substance. A woman that fight against all odds to achieve success.
Join me in this interview session with the C.E.O of Zeezah foods in person of Miss Badmus Azeezat Abisoye
- Please introduce yourself and your business.
I am Miss Badmus Azeezat Abisoye, the C.EO of ZEEZAH FOODS, a medium scale business that deals with all kinds of foodstuffs (Bags of rice, Vegetable oil, Palmoil, Noodles in cartons, Spaggetti, Seasonings, Semovita etc.) in wholesales and in retails prices
- What inspired you to start working from home/Office? Did anyone in particular inspire you?
Being a graduate is so interesting- you have all the time to yourself, you can live your life the way you want to. NYSC made it more lively, you get to collect allowee and some pocket money from your families. Live begins after serving your father’s land. It is not really easy if you don’t have the connections to get a job as soon as you complete services. After sleeping and waking for four months at home without a job, I sat down and began to think of what I can do on my own with the little money I had with me. I have always wanted to have a drink store, I told my brother about it, his response was like …Ladies and their idea of selling drinks and wears. This made me had a rethink and then I thought of foodstuffs. I didn’t share my idea with anyone except God. I started looking out for store and I found one. Let me just say never wanting to be a liability to any man made me an entrepreneur
- Is your family supportive of you being a working class Lady?
I am a single lady. My mum was very happy the day I told her about my plans and she has been supporting me since then
- What are the main challenges you face as an Entrepreneur?
God has been very great to me. Let me just say, selling foodstuffs to people on credit is something else. When they come to buy, they will want to cry, after getting it, they become the boss but, I can’t really stress myself on that, it is the same everywhere.
- Describe a typical working day. Are there specific times in the day that you work on your business?
I work on my business everyday…Monday to Saturday.
- What makes Your Business different from your competitors?
We all have competitors, but in my own case, the few competitors I have around are not young and classy…(Smiles). I do deliveries, they don’t, I am on social media, they are not…..lot of differences
- what helps keep you motivated?
My mom is my greatest motivator, social media is really helping too, my boyfriend is also my motivator….(Smiles)
- Where would you like to see your business in the future?
I really want ZEEZAH FOODS to be a shopping mall where you can get everything you want…..Insha Allah.
- What advice would you give to upcoming female entrepreneurs.
To all graduate out there, do not wait for office work, you can start building yourself now with the little you have. Don’t spend lavishly, its going to help you a great deal. Rome was not built in a day, don’t be shy to do what you wish to do, don’t keep friends that will discourage your interest because they don’t want you to be greater than them. We gonna be alright las las……Smiles
